Working on midterms...

Working on midterms, and i must say... i have had the most euphoric day of photography in my life. I have never been so 100% pleased with results before. And i think i can say out loud to myself, that i know i am on the right track. This is it. I am doing this, and i am improving, and i am loving every step of the way. These are just a couple of my favorites from the day, i just cannot get over how excited i am about these results. And i wont even get into how much fun im having with color play in photoshop. Amazing stuff. And its funny because none of these are shots being used for my midterm!

Painting with light (Test run!)

I have a super fun assignment this week, it's to paint with light. Using only a flashlight, we are to create our own masterpiece. My awesome friend let me borrow her once again, and we did a test run and played with some ideas. Once we get our hands on an LED light, we'll be good to go for the final assignment images!

'Til Death Do Us Part'

K and her husband had missed out on wedding portraits and wanted some done. She wanted a "Til Death Do Us Part" theme, and didn't mind if it ended up a "trash the dress" style shoot. Sadly, we didn't have any mud or water near by... however even though the dress didn't get wet and muddy...the photo's were a great success! Now they have their wedding photo's 'til death do them part'.

These were also from another photo assignment that required using a bare bulb and flags. The first, only using the bulb. The second having flags. My trusty model and assistant were very patient with me as we spent quite a while on these images, shot after shot. Adjusting things here and there... i am happy with the end results, but i couldn't have done it without the help of C and my good ole hubby, the light guy! Haha.

Paying homage to Alfred Hitchcock.

...Halloween is soon to come. I had a photo assignment that required an image to be created in or around a kitchen. My best model buddy and i were goofing off and this image came about. Part of the assignment was to just have fun in RAW (the assignment was to turn in a DNG file so that the instructor could see your RAW adjustments). Anyway, it came to me that making this a really contrasty image, i could create a vintage feel of an old Hitchcock film. So, Mr Hitchcock... thanks for the inspiration!

Just another day of homework...

...with another great model friend. This is my favorite from our little homework session. L is a great subject, and i can't wait for our session this week! It will be tons of fun!
