Would you vote for me?

Not only can you vote every 8 hours (if you wanted), leaving reviews will boost my campaign as well. The grand prize is a $1,000 scholarship, and boy that would sure help me buy some supplies for the upcoming semester, as well as for my photography dream in general. By posting this in emails, and on other sites, it also helps. So if you know family/friends that wouldn't mind an email to help a gal out, and vote passing along the word is encouraged too. Brickfish likes "spam" haha. I am forever grateful for those who've jumped in and supported me. I cant believe that i joined this thing late, and already out of over 49,000 entries im well on my way to the top 150! Just a few hundred more to go and that is achieved, and i couldn't do it without everyone's help. You are all amazing, and i thank you all so much!!

Something sweet.

Baking cookies from scratch is something i've never been good at. But when you have 3 girls suggesting we bake something so they can do something fun on a sleepover, its kind of hard to say no. While i had some packets of chocolate chip cookie mixes, they wanted sugar cookies. It brought a smile to my face as i remembered an amazing recipe my mom had always used when i was growing up. I turned to the handy big orange cookbook that she had given me years back...

...only to realize that i didn't have the cream of tartar or almond extract. Thanks to google, i was able to find some substitution suggestions. Being as how i always screw up cookies from scratch, i was nervous about this whole ordeal. But in the end it turned out alright. (Even the white chocolate chip cookies we made when the girls decided they didnt want to wait for the sugar cookie dough to set in the fridge).

I think they came out well, and the kids said they were pretty yummy! It was a nice little something sweet.

Photoshoot FAIL.

There's just some days when you can't make a kid happy. Today was one of those days. But even so, some cute shots came of it and you can only call them "Out Takes". There's some more locations to consider, and hopefully better moods for next week. Going to have to try this again, and perhaps it will be a bit more successful with smiley faces.
