Just say "CHEESE!"

Today was my first photoshoot here in the UK. It was more of a mini-session, but i think it turned out to be pretty good. In a flash my bedroom was turned into a home studio, after drilling holes in the wall to hold up my backdrop! (That, i am still amused by, and now its going to stay put!). The lights made more of a difference than i realized, and even though there was maybe only 4 or 5 cubic feet to work with, we made it happen and C was happy with her results!

Free Admission for Mum's.

Today was Mother's Day here in England, and the Hedingham Castle was doing free admission for mums. We had accepted an invite to go, and it was a great treat to see this magnificent place. The Castle was beautiful, and all around amazing. Rich with history... The day was so peaceful and relaxing, even the kids had a fantastic time. The day was topped off with a foam sword purchase from the gift shop, and watching as the kids reinacted scenes right out of the midevil days of sword fights! The weather was perfect, the day was perfect, and we cannot wait for our next adventure in the UK.

Birthday Bashing.

The cakes turned out amazing, and the party was even better. The kids enjoyed meeting new friends, and they had a blast. They also got to beat the crap out of a Pinata! What more could you ask for? The day was fantastic.

Color my cake!

Well, its not a secret that colorful swirled cakes are cool. Marble cakes have been around forever... The kids' birthday party is tomorrow, so they helped me bake and decorate a cake, one for each of them. We had fun making them, and it sure brightened up the day. We'll see how they look on the inside tomorrow.

"Bedgetables".

Today felt like a day to make salsa. All the ingredients were just sitting in the fridge, seemingly eye balling me this particular day. Kaylie of course volunteered to help, and sure enough, we had a great time. She kept mentioning "Bedgetables", and it was really cute.... but the best part was that she couldnt help herself and ate almost an entire green bell pepper to herself. The kid loves them, what can i say?

Heaven comes in a bowl, with a spoon.

The kids and i decided baking brownies were in order yesterday. They jumped right in and helped with everything, but their favorite part was tasting the chocolate mix. And once the brownie mix was in the oven, they wasted no time in cleaning up the bowl. With not being used to this oven yet and its rate of cooking, the brownies came out more like chocolate cake... but they're still good. It was a great day.

Walking Ely.

So from our house to the tip of the Cathedral, its about a 10 minute walk. Aside from the thick overcast, it was a great day to just walk along the town (doing photography homework) and see it without the hussle of the kids wanting to go, and play, and run everywhere. It was nice being alone, and able to take my time and photograph what i wanted. Afterwards, i had time to play with a filter program which led me to this photo.

Untitled.

Another shot at a photoblog brings me here. Today is the start of a new blog, and so you'll get to follow daily (perhaps not every single day, but you get the idea) life through my viewfinder. The sky is the limit, and anything can go. There's no telling what tomorrow's image(s) may be.
